Review Of A Network Tool In The Training Company - GEO Solutions
My review of Amazon AWS
Amazon AWS are cloud services that are hosted by Amazon. With Amazon AWS you can either store files on the cloud and collect them elsewhere. You can also make use of a virtual server which gives you a server in a server, which can be used in different circumstances. It also has a lot of other advanced features you can use.
Pcmag wrote an article about Amazon EC2, a part of Amazon AWS. They stated that Amazon AWS probably is the most expansive and customizable cloud server of all. They compared AWS with Azure and Rackspace. Overall, Amazon AWS is the best one in the market. First of all, the pricing is better than Azure and Rackspace. Although the support is worse, if you have the knowledge, you don’t need the support. Amazon AWS is more likely to be used as a standalone server, while Azure is perfect compatible with other Microsoft products (like word, access …). Besides that, Amazon has a marketplace, making it also attractive for the usability with other applications. I definitely agree with the review of pcmag. Amazon AWS is better than most of the other cloud services.
When I first used Amazon AWS, I noticed it has a complicated interface since it is more used by big companies rather than private. A positive point on the advanced features, and its complicated interface, is that it is customizable to however you like it. The basics of Amazon AWS can be compared with OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, … Another great thing about Amazon AWS is the pricing. It is extremely cheap for what you get and there are no minimum costs.
After using Amazon AWS for a while and discovering all of its features there is one thing that bothered me the most. Amazon AWS is mostly used as a standalone server and you can feel that when using it. It has a bad compatibility with other applications unlike Microsoft Azure (business version of OneDrive). This can be a big factor as to whether someone chooses for Azure or AWS since usability is a must-have these days. Furthermore you require some skill to use AWS entirely.
I surely recommend Amazon AWS for big companies. Firstly the prices are interesting, even on a big scale. Because it is more difficult to use I won’t recommend it to smaller businesses or for private usage. You’ll need someone with knowledge of network engineering to get the full use of Amazon AWS.
