IT-Autobiography

My name is Jens Van Loon. I’m an IT student at Immaculata in Oostmalle. I live in Zoersel and I was born in Antwerp. I have been raised with IT and I will probably die with it. I like playing video games like League of Legends. If I had to compare myself with a computer game, I would have been Super Mario, since I am not that aggressive and my life goal could be saving the princess of my dreams!

When I was 3 years old, I had my first computer and a game, called Putt-Putt. Surprisingly, no one in my family is interested in IT like me but somehow I like everything that has to do with IT. I taught myself a lot of things, I have never used a guide before. Beyond that, I never specialized myself in programming or hardware. After my second grade I started studying IT and here I am now.

IT kind of changed my lifestyle, if something can be related to IT, I will do so. After I had learned the basics of programming in school, I started to explore programming languages myself. And so now I am learning Scala and AngularJS. The thing that makes me so interested in IT, is because it is continuously changing, everything evolves and gets futuristic, just how I like it. Now I’ve learned some more about IT, I start feeling a bit more ‘experienced’. When there is a problem with something IT-related in the family, they call me to ask for help. With pride, I will help everyone.

Since I started studying IT, I have had a whole new job goal. I would like to work in the USA, especially at Google. Google is a company that is an example for me. It has reached a lot, starting with one simple website. I would like to infiltrate into Google and get higher as I get better. Eventually, if I can’t reach this goal, I would like to do the same thing here in Belgium. Having a high function is something I would like to achieve. I’m a leader type and I want to use it. Although I always wanted to make my own operating system, I realized that it is hardly possible to achieve. But I’m quite sure I will get a high position in the IT world since I’m an ambitious person with a great and open mind.

Accordingly to how my life has already changed into an IT life, I think it will change a lot more. At this moment, I can’t imagine a life without IT. IT has become a big part of me and I will keep it like that. Oh, and the reason I don’t wear glasses like a lot of IT persons, is because I C#.
